It's been awhile!!

So, the last time I posted on here was back in May and it's now September! A lot has happened from then to now. I spent 5 weeks with my family while Jesse was away at field camp. While staying those 5 weeks, my mom broke her leg and ended up having to have surgery on that knee again! She is doing well now, no more crutches! It was fun to go and visit a few weeks ago because Kaiden picked up that my moms leg hurt and saw that she was kind of limping and using a crutch. He found a ruler and started walking with it like a crutch and actually started limping around like his leg hurt. It was too funny to watch and it was giving my mom a complex! Jesse took a math class during the summer, but between working and taking the class, he didn't pass the class and is taking it again this Fall semester! He also lost his job at the end of August and started applying everywhere and his first day back to school this Fall he ended up getting a job with 2 professors and it's been a great blessing! Jesse and I also went to Las Vegas the middle of August just to get away and get a little vacation. It was fun! We spent 3 nights in Vegas and one day at Disneyland and went to a Cirque De Solei show! Kaiden is growing up everyday. He will be 18 months at the end of this month. He's walking/running almost everywhere and he is figuring out how to climb up on things. He is also starting to talk more and has figured out a few words. It's fun being able to stay home with him and watch him grow and explore new things! I am doing some photography here and there and I am enjoying it. I am in the Primary now, teaching the Sunbeams! It's a lot of fun and exhausting at times, but they are fun at this age and give you the sweetest answers! My brother comes home from his mission next month, those 2 years went by so fast! It will be fun to see him again and for him to finally meet Kaiden!
Jesse and I will be flying to Phoenix in a couple of weeks to go and see Arizona State University. He found out that they have a 1 year masters program in GIS mapping stuff.(sorry, don't know the right terms) It pertains to his degree in Geology and when he is done with the program he will be certified in GIS! It will be easier for him to get a job once he is done with this program and first, if he gets in. He would start the program next fall and we would probably move sometime next summer. I guess we will see what happens and if its where we need to be. I will, hopefully, continue updating this blog as much as possible to keep those who read this in touch with our lives!

Sunny Day

So, it's been awhile since I have updated this blog. I update my photo blog pretty regularly, but I forget to do this one. I have no idea who still keeps up with this blog, I never get any comments, so I never know who checks it out. We are all doing really well. Jesse is just about done with this semester. Once he is done, he has a week to get things together before he leaves for 5 weeks on his Geology Field Camp. 5 weeks doesn't seem like a long time, but for me and having to take care of a baby, seems like a long time. I haven't quite decided what I want to do during that time. I would really like to go through all our stuff and either decide to keep it, donate it or just trash it!! I really want to get things in order before December because once Jesse graduates, I have no idea what is in store. Kaiden is growing up. He is now 13 months and figuring out how to walk. He's starting to walk pretty well just around the house and getting 6 new teeth all at the same time. During the months of March and April, I took photography classes from a photographer here in the valley. I really enjoyed the classes and learned so much. I have put together a photo blog and you can check that out here! It's been fun learning how to take certain types of pictures and actually learning what my camera can do. I will try and keep this updated more. The summer should be fun and full of tons of pictures!!

Spring Time

I have been looking forward to the warm weather and everything being green again! It has been a little warmer the past week and I hope it will be even more warm next week so that we can go to the zoo. It's spring break next week and we're hoping that we can get to Hogle Zoo!! Kaiden will be 1 in a few weeks, it's so crazy how fast they grow up! He's so fun and I LOVE being able to stay home with him and watch him grow and learn new things.

I've been taking a photo class and the teacher gives assignments each week. I have another class tonight and so this picture was part of my assignment. It's hard to take "posed" pictures of this little guy, but I got a few good ones. And as I have been taking the pictures, I have been taking them in a different type of file. It's a better quality and the pictures turn out great, except I noticed that a few of them had black specs on them. Jesse took my camera into Inkley's yesterday and come to find out that there is dust on a part of the lens inside the camera and I would need to send it away to be cleaned and I wouldn't have my camera for 3 weeks! So I think I will wait until my class is over before I send it away!

Spring Time

I'm ready for Spring and Summer. I'm tired of the fog, cloudy sky and gloomy days. Hopefully it will warm up soon and we can see some sun!! My mom got me these tulips for Valentine's Day and I have been enjoying them!

Snuggle Time

Jesse and Kaiden were playing on the couch the other day and I couldn't resist taking a few pictures. Those two always have fun playing together. I love to see Kaiden when he sees his dad walk through the front door when he's done for the day. He loves his dad and he gets a smile on his everytime he sees him walk through the door.Kaiden is not a big snuggler, but when he wakes up from his naps, he will sit with one of us for a few minutes and just snuggle and try to wake up. I love it and enjoy every minute that I get to snuggle with my little boy!

Standing

He has the cutest smile ever! He also likes to help with the dishes!Kaiden has figured out how to pull himself up on things pretty well now. He hasn't figured out how to sit down or get down without falling, so he's had a few bumps and bruises. He's definetly a lot more busy and now that we have been back home for a few weeks, he's finally back to his regular sleep schedule.

Christmas, New Year and a busy 9 month old!!

So, again, this year we went home for christmas. It was a fun couple of weeks being able to spend time with both families. We did get sick for a few days, it wasn't fun, but we got over it just before christmas. We didn't do anything for new years, but my family came down for a few days and I took pictures of my sister. Kaiden is now 9 months old, it goes by way too fast. We took him to the doctor because he had been having a runny nose and ended up doing his 9 month check-up at the same time. He's 18 lbs 10 oz and 28 inches long. A few weeks ago he was 19 lbs, but he is all over the place and we were at my parents house and he had a lot more places to go than just our tiny apartment. Over all, it was a fun break and we are still enjoying it until Jesse goes back to school on the 11th!

Busy Boy

We have barriers in our living room just so that we can keep Kaiden from playing with cords. Today I had to find something else that I could put next to his big bear because he has figured out how to get around the bear. And even when I put something else by the bear, he got around it. He is figuring out how to pull himself up on things and his first tooth has just broke the skin and he has been sleeping so great at night. And everytime I get the camera out, he always starts blinking his eyes because he knows the flash is going to be on, so that's why in some pictures he looks a little funny. I can't believe he is now 8 months old...they grow up way too fast.

Sitting and Entertaining

We have tried so hard to get Kaiden to sit up. He has no desire whatsoever to sit. He would rather be scooting on his hands and knees across the floor to get to where he needs to be. Today Jesse had him sitting up and he sat there for awhile, so I had to get pictures and a video. He is growing up way to fast. Just in the last couple of days I have noticed more hair on his head and his bald spot on the back is going away. No teeth yet, but hopefully soon he will have a few. He really is a good little boy. He only cries when he really needs something. Night sleep is still a struggle, but once he's fed he goes right back to sleep. He truly does bring joy and light into our home!

Baby Proofing

Lately, Kaiden has been wanting to be everywhere we are and getting into everything. He really likes the computer, but there are cords that are down low so we have to find things to try and block that area. Yesterday we laid the chair down in front of it and we found kaiden like this. He was crying and was uncomfortable, but I had to get a picture.

Kaiden is super busy and it gets tiring sometimes chasing him all over. We have a pack n play and Jesse suggested that I put him in it so that I could get things done. So one day I decided to put him in it and this is what I found him doing. He could care less about all the toys he has, but obviously that mesh material was more entertaining, to him.

New Foods

Kaiden is eating solids and the other day I decided to see if he would like bananas. He loves pears, peaches, squash and sweet potatos, but he did not like bananas. He might like them later on, so for now we are just sticking to what he likes and will introduce more later.

Halloween

So it's Kaiden's first Halloween and we got him a little pumpkin outfit. In years to come it will be more exciting and fun and full of candy!! Kaiden also has a huge teddy bear and I just pulled it out today and he wasn't quite sure what to do with it. And Jesse put his Bears beanie on Kaiden and had to take a picture to show that he is a Bears fan!!!

Crawling!

So Kaiden is kind of crawling and it's enough that he is able to get around and get into things. It's so much fun to watch him grow and he has quite the personality. I LOVE being a mom and I'm so grateful that I get to stay home and be with him. He's just growing up too fast, but he is so fun at this age.

So I don't know who still checks out our blog, but I hadn't put anything new on for awhile and today I decided to post something. We're heading back to Utah on Friday and had a great time in Wyoming. Kaiden is now 4 1/2 months old and is a joy to have in our family.

Bath Time

Kaiden is now starting to enjoy his baths. At first he would scream and cry the whole time, but today we gave him a bath and he cried when we took him out.

One Month

Kaiden is getting to be a big boy and lose his newborn look. He's starting to smile a lot more and make cute little noises. He's also starting to figure out night time and sleep more during the night. He's so much fun and I enjoy getting to spend all day with him!

First Week Home

So the first week home has been an adventure. It seems like all I do is feed and change diapers and get a few naps in while the little guy sleeps. I know for sure that Kaiden doesn't like to have his diaper changed and every once in awhile he will let me know he doesn't like it changed by peeing once his diaper comes off. The other day I gave him a bath and had him all wrapped up nice and clean in his towel and he had a little gas, well when I pulled the towel off he had pooped in the towel. And once I had him all changed and picked him up and realized my shirt was wet. Jesse noticed that my shirt was wet and was laughing and I soon realized that I hadn't put his diaper on right. Even though these little things have happened, Kaiden is a joy. He's starting to be more alert and responsive and stays awake more during the day! YEAH!!! He gets bigger and stronger every day and I enjoy spending every day with him.

Kaiden

On March 30th at 8:09 a.m., Kaiden was born. He was 7 lbs 6 oz and 20 inches long. He did have to be put in the NICU for a day because he was having some trouble breathing. We were able to go home on Wednesday and our lives have been changed. He is such a blessing to have and we're so happy he is apart of our family.

This year we headed back home for the christmas holiday. It was so fun to be home and be around family. We weren't sure if we were going to make it back to Utah because of all the snow that came down on Christmas night, but we got back safe and sound.

Calico City

On our way home we stopped at a Ghost Town somewhere in Nevada. This town was established in the mid 1800's and they found silver and there's still silver there today.

Universal Studios

On the 4th of July we went to Universal Studios. It was packed full of people, but we still had a fun time. We rode The Mummy 4 times and got wet on Jurassic Park and rode the new ride The Simpsons (blah).

San Diego Temple

We had planned to actually go to a session at the San Diego temple, but it was closed for 2 weeks. It's a beautiful temple and I wish that we could have been able to go inside.

The Beach

Later that afternoon, after we went to the Midway, Jesse and I went to the beach. It was nice to and spend a few hours at the beach and play in the ocean.

San Diego

This was kind of like a jail. They told them that they could clean up their act, or they would be kicked off the ship.

Jesse is standing by a Huey Helicopter. There were quite a few planes and helicopters that were on top of the ship.

The second day that we were there we went to The Midway. The Midway was an aircraft carrier during the end of WWII to the liberation of Kuwait in 1991. It was huge. At one time it could hold up to 5000 people.

This was the car that his uncle restored. It's a 1959 Austin Healey Bug-Eye Sprite. He won best Bug-Eye Sprite at the car show.

Our next stop was San Diego. Jesse's uncle had a car in a car show that was going on in San Diego, so we were there for 3 days. The weather was so nice and the sun was out every day we were there.

Winchester Mystery House

These stairs went right to the ceiling. And while taking a tour of the house, there were a lot of rooms and parts of the house that weren't finished. The tour guide also said that she was constantly remodeling that they didn't know if some things were original in the house. She also never destroyed anything, she just built over it.

On our way down to San Diego, we stayed at Jesse's aunt house and she lives in San Jose. While we were there we went and toured the Winchester Mystery House. The lady that built this house was crazy. Her husband invented the Winchester rifle and he passed away and then she felt haunted by those who were killed by the rifles. So in order for her to feel peace she built onto her mansion 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 38 years, in hope to keep the spirits at bay. She built stairs that went to the ceiling, doors to no where and windows on the floor.

San Francisco

These guys were cool. They were spray painted in silver paint and then music was playing and they were acting like they were robots. One person put a quarter in one of the cups that they were holding and he threw the quarter out. I went and put a dollar in one of the cups and the guy on the right grabbed my hand, kissed it and gave me a heart lollipop and then started dancing to the music.

We also went to Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39. It was fun to go there because there were tons of things going on and good places to eat. Even though I really don't care for sea food, I still tried it and enjoyed it.

Here we are at the Golden Gate Bridge. We were going to walk on the bridge, but it was too cold and no one wanted to walk that far.
This is one of the trolley cars and we never did ride on one because there were always tons of people riding them.
And this street was a zig zag street. All the other streets were just normal streets and straight down, but this one was zig zag and straight down. And we drove the hummer down this street and everyone pointed at us as we drove down the street. And I'm pretty sure we lost most of the brakes in the hummer after going down the streets of San Francisco.

Our next stop was San Francisco. I expected California to be warm, but that wasn't the case in San Francisco. It was so cold everyday that we were there. Every morning that we woke up was foggy and it felt like early Spring time in Utah. But we all still had fun.

Reno

Our first night was in Reno, NV. It took us forever to get there, but it was fun to stay at Circus Circus.

At Circus Circus they had little kid rides and Jesse decided that he wanted to sit in one, but he never went for a ride.

California

So we started the trip out leaving Logan, very early Thursday morning and were making it all the way to Reno. We stopped at the Salt Flats and there was a whole area that was just covered in salt. I didn't think it was real salt, so I decided to see if it was, and it was salt!

Summer Time!!!

This is my grandpa and great-grandma. My grandma never likes to have her picture taken, but I got it.

There's a waterfall in the canyon and we just stopped to take a picture of it. For Father's Day we went up Logan Canyon with some of the family and had a barbecue. It was fun to be up there and be in the warm summer sun!

Chicago

In February we went to Chicago. There was a huge Auto Show and that's where Jesse served his mission. We should have waited and gone in the summer time because it was cold. It was a great trip, even though it was cold and when the wind blew it made it much colder. We were able to see the sights of the city and see some of the familys that Jesse taught. On the Sunday that we were there we went to one of the wards that Jesse served in and it was a spanish ward. I didn't understand a word that was said, but the people welcomed us and were very kind. Every day we rode the "El", which is just the train. But that was a totally new experience. People were on the train everyday either to get out of the city or going to the city and there were all kinds of people. It would be early in the morning and no one the train but us and few other people, so it would be a silent ride until someone got on and started talking to themself. But it was a great trip and hopefully we'll get to go back again.

Wedding

This was on our wedding day!! What a great day. I married my best friend and will always be eternal companions and we were able to share that with our friends and family. I will never forget that day!

Our First Post

So it seems that almost everyone in the family is into the whole blogging thing, so I figured I would give it a try. My mom created one for the family and said that we could add onto it, but I wanted to create one for our own family. So as of right now, we're both out of school for the summer and just working. We've got a trip to California planned with Jesse's parents at the end of June and then whatever other trips come our way. Then come the Fall time, Jesse will go back to school and I will just continue to work full time. Jesse will graduate in the fall of 2010 in Geology and then I will try and go back to school once he's done. And that's what's going on in our lives right now.
